Description

In a hot vintage, Gap’s Crown is a very interesting place for Pinot Noir. The 2024 vintage offers exceptional depth and intensity yet is perhaps a tad lighter in flavor profile than vintages past. The grapes matured at an even pace allowing us to pick each block at optimal maturity. Key clones of this vintage are 667 and 828. 828 thrives in a warmer vintage and offers depth and structure. It is a nice complement to the protected 667 clone that prefers the shade and offers a lighter flavor profile. The finished wine offers flavors that are robust with aromas of dark berry and cherry and hints of baking spice.

One of the truly outstanding sites in the Sonoma Coast AVA, the ‘Gap’s Crown Vineyard’ is located near the town of Cotati at an elevation of 300 to 800 feet, where it overlooks the Sangiacomo Vineyard just to the west. This is a rocking edition of this wine, with cran-cola, bright strawberry and salted red cherry candy flavors alongside loads of steely tension on the palate.
