The Moon Mountain District is Sonoma’s rising star, celebrated for producing bold, age-worthy Cabernets from high-altitude volcanic slopes. Perched between 400 and 2,200 feet, this region is defined by rugged terrain and iron-rich volcanic soils that yield Cabernet Sauvignon of remarkable intensity and structure. While this high-elevation region is currently the talk of the industry, its roots run deep; a cornerstone of this blend hails from the historic Monte Rosso Vineyard. Established in the 1880s, Monte Rosso is a site of unparalleled heritage, or as winemaker Erich Bradley puts it, "the cat’s meow." Our 2023 vintage is a true powerhouse, balancing rich texture with layers of cassis, dark chocolate, and vibrant fruit to offer a profound sense of place.
