Sojourn’s 2014 Gap’s Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir Earns Wine Spectator’s #35 Wine of the Year for 2016

Sojourn’s 2014 Gap’s Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir Earns Wine Spectator’s #35 Wine of the Year for 2016

September 2025: Check out our new-and-improved Top 100 Lists page here!

We’ve just revealed our Top 100 of 2024!

Each year, Wine Spectator editors survey the wines reviewed over the previous 12 months and select our Top 100, based on quality, value, availability and excitement. This annual list honors successful wineries, regions and vintages around the world.

Here you’ll find every Top 100 list from 2024 back to the debut year, 1988. Since then, new regions, grapes and styles have appeared on the list and risen in the ranks. In 2024, a Chilean wine attained the No. 1 spot for only the second time in the list’s history, while 35 wines earned a spot on the Top 100 for the first time.

However, the classics are still going strong. With the superb 2021 vintage, California occupies more than a quarter of the list thanks to its excellent Cabernets; likewise, Italy makes up 20 percent of the entries, with emphasis on the wines of Tuscany. Enjoy browsing 36 years of the world’s top wines!

For detailed profiles of all of the 2024 picks, check out the complete Top 100 Wines of 2024 package in the Dec. 31, 2024, issue of Wine Spectator, or buy a back issue when they become available.

(Note: In 1998, some wines share the same rank, as the list was divided into top reds, whites and dessert wines.)
