2017 Wohler Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
2017 Wohler Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
Our original Russian River Valley Pinot noir from Wohler Vineyard has become a classic. Wohler Vineyard sits in the heart of the acclaimed Russian River Valley, within sight of the historic Wohler Bridge, just minutes from the iconic vineyards that originally established the Valley’s global reputation for Pinot noir. We use a blend of five different Pinot noir clones, each providing a key element to the final blend. This wine possesses a rich, lush texture with a hint of earthy aromatics and the signature Russian River Valley cherry finish.

"At once cool and smoky, this pinot noir has iron in its soul, the richly textured and lively palate structured for long aging. I love the mineral freshness that drives the long and intense finish. " - James Suckling, James Suckling

International Wine Report
"Sourced from the Russian River Valley vineyard, the 2017 Sojourn Cellars ‘Wohler Vineyard’ Pinot Noir shows deep red and dark fruit tones with shades of exotic spices that fill the nose. The palate has a silky texture and unveils copious red cherry, lavender and red raspberry cordial flavors with lighter tones of wild mushroom and minerals. While marvelous now, this will continue to evolve well for a decade or more. Drink 2019-2029." - Dr. Owen Bargreen, International Wine Report

Wine Enthusiast
"Beautifully perfumed, this is a well-integrated wine, gritty in texture and moderate in weight. Blue and red fruit form around a tension of focused acidity and tannic balance, finishing with a spiciness of cardamom, cola and orange peel." - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast

Wine Spectator
"Silky in texture, with medium-grained tannins supporting the fresh red fruit and spice flavors. Creamy accents emerge mid-palate, leading to a finish that lingers with sandalwood and hot stone hints. Drink now through 2022. — KM" - Kim Marcus, Wine Spectator
