2020 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
2020 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Our flagship wine since 2004, the Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot noir is a robust wine, with bold flavors and an exceptional creamy texture. The vineyard is located on Roberts Road at the western base of Sonoma Mountain. In 2020 we blended equal parts of clone 115 and Mt Eden with a touch of Swan clone adding nuance. The aromas are intriguing with classic Pinot noir red fruit notes and hints of forest floor. This vintage offers excellent acidity with higher levels of tannins. Yields were tiny in 2020, thus we bottled only a small amount of this wine and allocations are reduced from normal levels.

International Wine Report
"Sourced from 22-year old vines from Sangiacomo Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast, this 100% destemmed Pinot Noir is aged in 50% new French oak barrels. Cedary herbs, forest floor, black cherry, ground baking chocolate and red plum aromas spill from the glass. The palate brings a savory saline note of iodine and iron on the finish while the mid-palate delivers the gorgeous fruit. Acidity and tannin both come in at the medium range. Drink now or for the next 8-9 years." - Jeremy Young, International Wine Report
Sangiacomo Vineyard
Sonoma Coast, Petaluma Gap
Sangiacomo Vineyard on Roberts Road near Cotati has been Sojourn’s flagship Pinot noir vineyard since 2004. This exceptional site was developed in an old creekbed at the western base of Sonoma Mountain. In summer and fall, cool air and fog from the Pacific Ocean get trapped here, allowing for uncommonly long hangtimes without sacrificing acidity and balance.
