2019 Wohler Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
Wohler Vineyard is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley, just minutes from the iconic vineyards that originally established the Valley’s global reputation for Pinot noir. This wine showcases the exceptional Russian River Valley terroir with its depth and silkiness. Clones 667 and 828 form the foundation, providing a rich, lush core. A touch of Wädenswil 2A clone adds focus and earthy aromatics. Jeremy Young of International Wine Report claims it as his favorite from the 2019 line-up and writes, “you should age for a decade even though you can open and enjoy this wine right now.

"Wohler Vineyard sits in the heart of the famed Russian River Valley and is 100% destemmed and sees 50% new French oak during aging. I love the nose - it is more black than red fruit on the nose and shows a marvelous smokiness on the nose that I really enjoy. It’s a wine that I could sit for hours and watch evolve in the glass. On the palate it has above average acidity, medium tannins and a 14% alcohol level, with flavors of black raspberry, red plum, black cherry, sweet baking spices with just the right amount of funk that I adore. This is my favorite from the 2019 lineup and should age for a decade even though you can open and enjoy this wine right now." - Jeremy Young, International Wine Report

"As with all the wines here, the 2019 Pinot Noir Wohler Vineyard has a solid sense of typicity, displaying the classic richer, more rounded aromas and flavors of the Russian River Valley. Lots of black cherries, darker berries, spicy herbs, and loamy earth as well as just a tiny hint of cola emerge from the glass, and this beauty is medium to full-bodied, with a soft, approachable style, light tannins, and outstanding length on the finish." - Jeb Dunnuck
