Walala Vineyard’s remarkable character stems from its 1,200-foot elevation, gravelly loam soils and close proximity to the Pacific Ocean. The 2021 vintage is a stunning wine with superb balance and intense flavors. This is our best wine yet from this amazing vineyard. It offers layers of deep and bright red fruit aromas with tropical notes. Clone 115 was the star in 2021, providing depth and robust flavors while Clone 113 added intriguing tropical flavors and layers of texture. We fermented all of the clone 828 grapes whole-cluster adding complexity and length.

International Wine Report
"The 2021 Walala Pinot Noir from Sojourn boasts a medium ruby core with a blueish rim and was aged in 50% new French oak barrels. It does see 5% whole cluster during fermentation which helps add some earthiness and structure to the wine. Lovely red rose, black raspberry, and cherry cola notes explode from the glass, with secondary components of sandalwood, cedary herbs, and shaved chocolate playing second fiddle. The rich mouthfeel and sweet chewy tannins create the backbone of this wine." - Jeremy Young, International Wine Report
Walala Vineyard
West Sonoma Coast
The Walala Vineyard is perched along a ridge 1,200 feet above sea level, just inland from the rugged Sonoma coastline. In its position above the dense fog line, the vineyard experiences the moderate temperatures that give grapes longer hang times for optimal flavor and ripeness.
