2022 Wohler Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
2022 Wohler Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
With a 94-point rating from Wine Spectator and 95 points from Owen Bargreen, we expect this wine to sell out quickly. 2022 was an exceptional vintage for Wohler Vineyard. We were able to pick small exposed sections of the vineyard before a heat wave, while letting the cooler sections hang longer and gain complexity. These smaller picks allowed the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness in each section. The resulting wine showcases the best of what this vineyard, and its well-draining Goldridge Series soils, can offer. This blend of Pinot Noir clones 667, 828, and Wädenswil 2A offers layers of red fruits and earthy tones with a deep silky texture.

"This outstanding 2022 Pinot Noir comes from the Wohler Vineyard which is centered in the middle of the Russian River Valley and set on Goldridge soils. The wine has outstanding finesse with a very juicy core of red fruits that parade with damp soils, cigar box, and shades of wet rock on the palate. Inviting now, this will surely live on for another fifteen years to come." - Owen Bargreen

"Ripe and inviting, offering high-pitched hints of rooibos tea and potpourri out front before its core of juicy red and black cherry compote catches up. Then, everything melds nicely, with a backdrop of sandalwood and iris through the finish. Tilting toward toasty in style overall, this is well-built." - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator
