This wine is a blend of three Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, with our Home Ranch Vineyard forming the foundation of rich blue fruit flavors and silky tannins. Home Ranch was planted by Sojourn founder Craig Haserot in 2002 and is in the southwest corner of Sonoma Valley. To create this 2021 vintage cuvée, we blended in Cabernet Sauvignon from two neighboring vineyards. Each component was fermented separately and aged for 20 months in French oak barrels before blending. The resulting wine is a crowd pleaser, with intense fruit character and smooth tannins.

"The 2021 Home Ranch Cuvée Cabernet from Sojourn sports a dark purple core with a lighter purple rim and saw 70% new French oak barrels during aging. This is a wine that punches way above its price point and delivers scintillating notes of crushed blackberries, blueberry pie, milk chocolate, crushed herbs, sweet tobacco, and shades of new leather. Tannins are on the medium side but are perfectly balanced with the elevated acidity and the fruit and earth-focused finish." - Jeremy Young, International Wine Report

"The ‘Home Ranch Cuvee’ comes from this southwestern Sonoma County site which was planted by Sojourn founder Craig Haserot in 2002. This is heady and concentrated Sonoma Cabernet with cassis, mocha, tar and shades of violets on the nose. The palate has a smooth mouthfeel, with plenty of tension and finesse alongside the core of black and blue fruits. With more air milk chocolate and espresso ground flavors add to the enjoyment, as this well-structured beauty will cellar well for another twenty years to come — yet is irresistible in its youth." - Owen Bargreen
Home Ranch Vineyard
Sonoma Valley
Planted by Sojourn Founder Craig Haserot, the Home Ranch Vineyard is located just 10 minutes northwest of the town of Sonoma. The vineyard sits in a small bowl protected by the southern edge of Sonoma Mountain. The microclimate averages 3 to 5 degrees warmer than downtown Sonoma. The heat brings Cabernet Sauvignon to full maturity, for dark, concentrated wines.
