2021 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon
2021 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon
With the opportunity to make wines from premier blocks within Stagecoach Vineyard, we also decided to expand our journey and produce an Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon. Our goal is to further showcase the terroir of this distinctive mountainside and the exceptional small vineyards that dot its landscape. To craft this 2021 vintage wine, we blended Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Petit Verdot from Stagecoach Vineyard with wines made from two impressive neighboring vineyards on Atlas Peak. The result is a robust Cabernet Sauvignon wine of depth and complexity. It exhibits aromas of cherries, plums and dark chocolate and offers a rich and lush mouthfeel with a long, silky finish.

"The outstanding 2021 Sojourn Cellars ‘Atlas Peak’ Cabernet Sauvignon comes from two sites in this district. It comes off rich and viscous with layers of dark currants, coffee grounds and dark chocolate shavings on the palate, alongside plenty of stony minerals. Finishing long with black fruits and lovely weight, enjoy this outstanding bottling over the next fifteen plus years to come." - Owen Bargreen

"Sojourn's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Atlas Peak blends lots from Stagecoach Vineyard with those from two other nearby sites and includes 2% Petit Verdot. Like the Oakville bottling, this is also matured in 70% new French oak. Dark fruit and pencil shavings mark the nose, black cherries and cassis leading the way. Full-bodied and concentrated, this is a big, rich, reasonably tannic effort that could easily handle several years in the cellar. Drink the Oakville bottling while waiting for this one to come around, or be prepared to serve this alongside rare beef or lamb. Given current pricing, this is a solid value, as not many Napa Cabs in this price range will age for two decades." - Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
