2019 Riddle Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
2019 Riddle Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Riddle Vineyard is situated in a rugged section of the West Sonoma Coast at the top of a coastal ridge with a gentle slope. James Riddle gives each vine special attention, clipping shoots to the wires to maximize sun exposure and making several passes through the vines each vintage to orient clusters and create the best opportunity to produce exceptional fruit. Mt. Eden clone provides a foundation of robust berry flavors and rich, silky texture. Two additional clones, 115 and Pommard, balance out the 2019 single vineyard bottling, adding complexity and length. It provides intriguing bramble berry fruit flavors, bright concentration and silky tannins.

"Another smoking good wine in the lineup, the 2019 Pinot Noir Riddle Vineyard reveals a translucent ruby color as well as textbook Sonoma Coast notes of lively red berry fruit intermixed with notes of white flowers and salty minerality. With medium-bodied richness on the palate, it has a tight, vibrant mouthfeel, building yet beautifully ripe tannins, a solid spine of acidity, and a gorgeous finish. It ranks with the top single vineyard releases from this estate and will have 10-12 years of prime drinking." - Jeb Dunnuck
