Durell Vineyard has been the source behind some of the most sought-after Chardonnay wines in California history. We feel fortunate to work with two outstanding vineyard blocks that combine to make something special. Both blocks of 100% Old Wente clone Chardonnay were harvested at night and pressed to extract only the highest quality juice. This 2019 vintage wine is lively and exotic with rich flavors, complexity and focus. We fermented in French oak barrels to produce an expansive wine that illustrates the balance and exceptional character of the vintage.

"Another Sonoma Coast release, the 2019 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard displays a fresher, livelier style, offering lots of crushed citrus, lime, honeyed minerality, and floral nuances that carry to a medium-bodied, beautifully textured, seamless Chardonnay with a solid spine of acidity, good mid-palate depth, and a brilliant finish. It’s still tight and lively today, and I suspect it will benefit from 6-12 months of bottle age. It should evolve for a good 7-8 years, if not upwards of a decade." - Jeb Dunnuck

"Crisp and focused, with plenty of lemongrass and savory accents to the green apple and preserved citrus flavors, followed by snap pea notes on the crunchy, well-spiced finish." - Kim Marcus, Wine Spectator
