2018 Ridgetop Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
2018 Ridgetop Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
The Ridgetop Vineyard is located in the remote coastal mountains along the northern Sonoma Coast. The vines produce minuscule yields with concentrated flavors, provocative aromatics, and silky texture as they struggle to grow. One of the fastest wines to sell out each year, this wine offers explosive aromas of red and tropical fruits and burnt orange overlaying a bold strength and complexity at its core. This wine is produced from Dijon clones 777, 667 and 115, which are desired for rich cherry fruit and generous, age worthy tannins.

"Made from a high-elevation site farmed by Ulises Valdez, Jr., at the extreme coastal reaches of Annapolis, this wine is juicy in
black cherry and strawberry. Firm, substantial tannins add to the power and concentration, finishing
in baking spice and toasted oak" - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast

"From a vineyard owned and managed by Thomas Rivers Brown and Fred Schrader, the 2018 Pinot Noir Ridgetop Vineyard reveals a medium ruby/translucent hue as well as a pretty bouquet of framboise, strawberry tart, minty herbs, and loamy earth. It's another incredibly elegant, ethereal 2018 with nicely integrated acidity, terrific balance, and a great finish. I wouldn't be surprised to see this keep for over a decade." - Jeb Dunnuck

"The Ridgetop Vineyard is a barren site located in the Sonoma Coast AVA, not far from Anapolis. Utilizing clones 115, 667 and 777 this gorgeous Pinot Noir is silky and seductive with bright cranberries, pomegranate and salted guava tones that connect with the lovely texture and mouthfeel. This is fantastic to enjoy now, and should also cellar beautifully for a decade or more." - Owen Bargreen, International Wine Report
Ridgetop Vineyard
West Sonoma Coast
Located just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean in the town of Annapolis, and sitting at 1,100 feet above sea level, Ridgetop Vineyard is Sojourn’s most coastal vineyard site. The maritime influence effectively moderates high temperatures during summer and fall, while the vineyard’s position on the eastern side of the first coastal ridge protects it from fog.
