2017 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
2017 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Our flagship wine since 2004, the 2017 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot noir once again reflects the Sangiacomo family’s commitment to meticulous farming that has been their calling card for three generations. This vintage offers significant depth and concentration with classic Pinot noir flavors and notes of forest floor and earth coming from the expressive Swan clone. The vineyard is located on Roberts Road at the western base of Sonoma Mountain. Cool ocean breezes and fog from the Petaluma Gap allow for long hang times and complex flavor development. The moderate 2017 climate allowed the grapes to reach optimal maturity while retaining their natural acidity.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2017 Pinot Noir Sangiacomo Vineyard, aged in 50% new French oak, has a pale ruby color. The nose offers aromas of toasted coconut, fresh tobacco leaves, woodsmoke and crushed Bing cherries with notes of blackberries, underbrush, fragrant earth and a light framing of oak spice. Medium-bodied, it offers great flavor intensity and layering, with a finely grained frame and seamless freshness on the long, nuanced finish." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

James Suckling
"Ripe and generous with very attractive fleshiness and fine tannins. This has plenty of cherry and raspberry aromas that add to its abundant appeal. The finish is really long and lively." - James Suckling

International Wine Report
"The Sangiacomo Vineyard has a very strong maritime influence being only a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. Sojourn has been sourcing from this esteemed vineyard since 2004. The wine starts off with a bright bouquet of dark cherry cough syrup, cola, sassafras and a touch of diatomaceous earth. The palate reveals a silky mouthfeel with plush dark and red fruit flavors with a touch of cran-orange. Refined and offering light tannins, this is a stunning effort by Sojourn. Drink 2019-2030." - Dr. Owen Bargreen, International Wine Report
Sangiacomo Vineyard
Sonoma Coast, Petaluma Gap
Sangiacomo Vineyard on Roberts Road near Cotati has been Sojourn’s flagship Pinot noir vineyard since 2004. This exceptional site was developed in an old creekbed at the western base of Sonoma Mountain. In summer and fall, cool air and fog from the Pacific Ocean get trapped here, allowing for uncommonly long hangtimes without sacrificing acidity and balance.
