2017 Ridgetop Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
2017 Ridgetop Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
One of our most remote vineyard sites, Ridgetop is located in the coastal mountains along the northwest Sonoma Coast near the town of Annapolis. Situated high above the Pacific where ocean breezes are ever present, vines produce miniscule yields resulting in wine with concentrated flavors, provocative aromatics, and silky textures. Always a Sojourn fan favorite, and one of the fastest wines to sell out each year, this wine offers explosive aromas of red and tropical fruits and burnt orange overlaying a bold strength and complexity at its core. The texture is rich and supple.

"Moderately dark garnet color in the glass. The nose is like great sex - hard to describe but a five-alarm sensation. Aromas of exotic spices, blue and black berries and lusty earth. Mid weight plus in style, with a silky fullness and richness that caresses the palate with blue and black berry flavors. Seamless, with a sleek, slightly tannic finish that urges another sip. An alien wine unlike any other in the lineup." - Rusty Gaffney, PinotFile

"Dense and layered the ‘Ridgetop Vineyard’ Pinot Noir is another great effort by Sojourn Cellars. Red and dark fruits mingle with a whiff of salinity on the nose. The silky texture is outstanding as is the long, generous salted red fruit driven finish. Outstanding in its youth, this beautiful new Pinot Noir will evolve well over the next decade. Drink 2019-2029." - Dr. Owen Bargreen, International Wine Report

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2017 Pinot Noir Ridgetop Vineyard was aged in 50% new French oak. It has a pale to medium ruby color and gives up smoked cranberries, blackberries and baked raspberries on the nose with nuances of underbrush, autumn leaves, burnt orange and potpourri plus light accenting of new oak spices. Medium-bodied, it’s silky and intense with a gently grainy frame and great freshness lifting the finish." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Ridgetop Vineyard
West Sonoma Coast
Located just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean in the town of Annapolis, and sitting at 1,100 feet above sea level, Ridgetop Vineyard is Sojourn’s most coastal vineyard site. The maritime influence effectively moderates high temperatures during summer and fall, while the vineyard’s position on the eastern side of the first coastal ridge protects it from fog.
