2017 Reuling Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
2017 Reuling Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Reuling Vineyard has a unique and distinctive terroir that continues to fascinate us as winemakers. It is planted to three unique Pinot noir clones: Calera, and two distinct “suitcase” clones from the Vosne-Romanée region of Burgundy. Mark Aubert helped develop the vineyard and produced highly rated Reuling Pinot noir wines for ten years. An impressive and distinctive wine, the 2017 vintage opens with complex aromas of earth and forest floor that lead to dark cherry, mushroom and truffle notes.

International Wine Report
"The Reuling Vineyard is located in the Sonoma Coast AVA near the town of Forestville. On the nose this takes on beautiful and intense red fruits that mingle with stony and citrus rind tones on this expressive bouquet. The palate exquisitely combines elegance and tension with a silky mouthfeel. Bright guava, strawberry and blood orange zest flavors mingle with minerals and earthy undertones. A complete wine, this is a simply stunning new wine by the talented Erich Bradley. Drink 2019-2029." - Dr. Owen Bargreen, International Wine Report

"Calera and two suitcase clones from Vosne-Romanee fermented separately and then blended just prior to bottling in August 2018. 100% de-stemmed, native yeast fermentation, aged 11 months in French oak barrels, 50% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Moderate garnet color in the glass. This wine offers an impressive balance between fruit and savory characters and is the most savory wine in the 2017 lineup. Aromas of dark red and blue berries, spice, and mushrooms on the grill. Mid weight in style, and offering earthy, even animal notes infusing the chewy cherry and blueberry fruit flavors. Nicely integrated oak, with a silky mouthfeel, balanced tannins and a pleasing finish." - Rusty Gaffney, PinotFile

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2017 Pinot Noir Reuling Vineyard was aged in 50% new French oak. Pale ruby in the glass, it's scented of fresh Bing cherries, cranberries, dried leaves, citrus peel, potpourri and blackberries. It’s light-bodied with bright, crunchy, spicy fruits, a grainy frame and great freshness on the spicy finish." - Erin Brooks, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
