2017 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
2017 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
We sourced our 2017 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay from three of the top vineyard sites in Sonoma Coast – Sangiacomo, Durell, and Gap’s Crown – with the goal of creating a cuvée that showcases the varietal’s exceptional character in this region. The vineyards were balanced in 2017, bestowing the wines of this vintage with high levels of concentration and detailed aromatics. An intriguing nose of stone fruit and yellow apple leads to rich flavors and an intriguing mix of depth and vibrancy. Refreshing and layered, the addition of 30 percent new French oak barrels adds richness and broadens the texture without overwhelming the fruit. Sojourn Cellars also produces single vineyard wines from these sites. This wine is a tremendous value at $38.

"Moderate golden yellow color in the glass. Fragrant with aromas of citrus, white peach, crème brûlée and white flower blossoms. Moderately rich, with ripe flavors of yellow peach and pear. There is enough of a spark of acidity to offset the boisterous fruit, and oak blends in nicely." - Rusty Gaffney, PinotFile

"Bursting with bright, vivacious notes of baked peaches, ripe Bosc pears, apple blossoms and green mango, the 2017 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast follows up with hints of honeysuckle and allspice. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating apple and pear flavors with a satiny texture and lovely freshness, finishing with great length." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
