Oakville Ranch Vineyard dominates the blend of our generous and supple 2016 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. Located in the hills among famous neighbors Dalla Valle, Pedregal and Backus vineyards, Oakville Ranch Vineyard sits at 1,400 feet overlooking Napa Valley. The sprinkling of clay over volcanic rocks, high elevation and western exposure combine to produce powerful, rich, structured wines. The lauded 2016 vintage provided ideal weather conditions for the grapes to ripen optimally under the care of esteemed organic viticulturist Phil Coturri. This blend spent nearly four weeks fermenting on skins to ensure that the tannins and fruit flavors were balanced. The resulting wine is rich and vibrant, offering vivid flavors of blackberry, raspberry, cassis and mocha.

"Looking first at the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville, it’s a smoking introduction to the estate and reveals a deep purple hue as well as tons of mulled blackcurrant fruits interwoven with cedary herbs, dark chocolate, and hints of tobacco. This is a beautiful, full-bodied effort that has sweet tannins, a rounded, sexy mouthfeel, and a great finish. It’s a winner to drink anytime over the coming 10-15 years. It competes with wines three times the price." - Jeb Dunnuck

Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals a harmonious fruit preserves and velvety texture interplay with background freshness and a fragrant finish." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate

"Big oak and leathery tannins are hugely present in this thick, richly concentrated wine, that offers fans of a more robust style the jammy blueberry, blackberry and graham cracker layers worth sinking one's teeth into." - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast

International Wine Report
"The ‘Oakville’ Cabernet Sauvignon is largely comprised of Oakville Ranch fruit. The vineyard is set at 1,000 to 1,400 feet above sea level, and is set on a combination with soils of clay over volcanic rock. This wine shows its best aromatic expression following a one hour decant. Once aroused it displays coffee ground, roasted fig and black cherry compote aromas that impress. The palate is plush and refined, showing some mild tannins with creme de cassis, Turkish coffee, and roasted date flavors. Downright delicious now, this will cellar well for the next fifteen plus years. Drink 2019-2033." - Dr. Owen Bargreen, International Wine Report
