Planted by Sojourn proprietor Craig Haserot in 2002, the Home Ranch Vineyard is tucked away in the southwest corner of Sonoma Valley, where it is warm enough to fully ripen Cabernet Sauvignon. Built on a core of clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon, the early bud break and lack of heat spikes in 2016 allowed the grapes to mature at an optimal pace. This finished wine is remarkable, with explosive aromas that pop out of the glass with blueberry fruit and hints of cassis and mocha. The texture is big and lush with silky tannins and a lingering finish. It is a superb value at $59!

Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate
"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Home Ranch Cuvée bursts from the glass with vivacious black cherries, wild blueberries and warm cassis notes plus hints of dried Provence herbs, lavender, mossy tree bark and candied violets. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is brimming with compelling energy, framed by soft, finely grained tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and perfumed." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate

International Wine Report
"The ‘Home Ranch Vineyard’ is located on the western edge of the Sonoma Valley. The wine shows off intense blackberry pie, mocha, anise and sagebrush undertones that fill the nose. Soft and refined on the palate, the wine shows a silky texture. Blackberry pie, black tea, anise and creme de cassis with coffee ground flavors all impress. Downright delicious now, this wine will cellar well for the next fifteen years. Drink 2019-2033." - Dr. Owen Bargreen, International Wine Report

Home Ranch Vineyard
Sonoma Valley
Planted by Sojourn Founder Craig Haserot, the Home Ranch Vineyard is located just 10 minutes northwest of the town of Sonoma. The vineyard sits in a small bowl protected by the southern edge of Sonoma Mountain. The microclimate averages 3 to 5 degrees warmer than downtown Sonoma. The heat brings Cabernet Sauvignon to full maturity, for dark, concentrated wines.
