Oakville Ranch Vineyard is a rugged 330-acre estate, tucked into a rocky shelf 1.400 feet above the Napa Valley floor. The ranch is in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains on the far eastern edge of the renowned Oakville District AVA. This unique setting allows the vineyard to take advantage of the cooling breezes of the Pacific and the warm, dry air of the Valley. The combination of rocky, clay, loam and basalt soils have a heavy influence providing structure, power and depth in this wine. The vineyard was replanted in 2006 by esteem organic viticulturist Phil Coturri, and quickly has established a reputation for producing some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley. This inaugural release of our Oakville Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is only available in magnums (1.5L) to salute both this exceptional vintage and vineyard site. This wine has tremendous depth, finesse and aromatic intensity.

"This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the 330-acre Oakville Ranch Vineyard, which lies 1,400 feet above the valley floor on the foothills of the Vaca Mountains on the eastern edge of Oakville. This vineyard was replanted in 2006 and is becoming a premier site for Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine itself opens to inviting aromatics of ripe black currants, cassis, mocha, spices, violets, herbs, tobacco and graphite all taking shape. On the palate this possesses a full body with a gorgeous mouthfeel, backed by beautifully polished tannins. It continues to impress with excellent overall structure and depth, as layers of dark fruits, spices and mocha continue to build through the finish. This is a fantastic Cabernet from winemaker Erich Bradley, which should age remarkably well over the next decade plus, however it is also extremely appealing today. This is Sojourn's inaugural release from this vineyard and they have decided to bottle this Cabernet in Magnum only." - Dr. Owen Bargreen, International Wine Report
Oakville Ranch Vineyard
Oakville, Napa Valley
At 1,000 to 1,400 feet above sea level, the Oakville Ranch Vineyard looks west over Napa Valley. This high elevation and western exposure, in combination with soils of clay over volcanic rock, produce the rich, powerfully structured wines that make the vineyard one of the most sought-after in California for Cabernet Sauvignon.
