Campbell Ranch is located in the extreme northern Sonoma Coast near the town of Annapolis, just five miles from the Pacific Ocean. The vineyard benefits from cool coastal winds and foggy mornings that clear to hot afternoons, providing excellent diurnal variation for ripening Chardonnay. The extremes in temperature are ideal for retaining acidity, while the phenolic ripeness and flavors flourish from the heat of the afternoon. Sojourn’s Chardonnay block is planted to Old Wente clone, and comprises a mixture of young and old vines inter-planted, providing an array of flavors at harvest between citrus and tropical.
