We produce a Proprietary Cuvée only in vintages when we can create a blend of exceptional quality and ageing potential. The 2016 vintage provided idyllic weather conditions in Napa Valley. Our Proprietary Cuvée exudes the concentrated and voluptuous character of Cabernet Sauvignon from the vintage. Blended from renowned Napa Valley hillside and valley floor fruit, this wine showcases two of the top vineyard sites in Napa Valley – famed Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III in Rutherford and the exclusive, Oakville Ranch Vineyard. The resulting wine is balanced and impressive. It possesses gorgeous red and dark fruit aromas that lead to flavors of dark cherry, earth and mouth-watering chocolate. Enjoy now or sock it away to enjoy for years to come.

International Wine Report
"The ‘Proprietary Cuvee’ by Sojourn is sourced from some esteemed vineyard sites in Napa: the Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III in Rutherford as well as the Oakville Ranch Vineyard. This wine was aged for 18 months in largely new (75%) French oak prior to bottling. The nose is gorgeous showing highly perfumed creme de cassis, black tea, Asian spice and mocha aromas that continue to build in the glass. The wine shows off a silky mouthfeel as mocha, tar, anise and creme de cassis flavors shine brightly alongside the toasty oak on the palate. Rich, decadent and hard to resist now, this awesome wine by Erich Bradley has a long life in the cellar. Drink 2019-2035." - Dr. Owen Bargreen, International Wine Report

Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate
"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Proprietary Cuvée is wearing a cedary veil, coating the blackberry preserves, crushed blackcurrants and boysenberry scents with underlying spice cake, wild sage and mocha suggestions. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers a rock-solid foundation of grainy tannins and dense, muscular black fruit, finishing with long-lingering black fruit and toasty notes." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate

California Grapevine
"Medium-dark ruby; attractive, forward, intense, dark cherry and blackberry fruit aroma with notes of cassis, tobacco leaf, and dried herbs; full body; deep, ripe, textured, cedary, red and dark berry fruit flavors with well integrated oak and a hint of dark chocolate; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Nicely balanced and showing hints of elegance and complexity that makes the wine enjoyable to taste now, though best to let it develop with a good three to five more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. " - California Grapevine

Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III
Rutherford, Napa Valley
Sojourn is honored to source fruit from Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III, a famed property developed by winemaking pioneer Georges de Latour in 1928 and cultivated by the legendary Andre Tschelistcheff.
Oakville Ranch Vineyard
Oakville, Napa Valley
At 1,000 to 1,400 feet above sea level, the Oakville Ranch Vineyard looks west over Napa Valley. This high elevation and western exposure, in combination with soils of clay over volcanic rock, produce the rich, powerfully structured wines that make the vineyard one of the most sought-after in California for Cabernet Sauvignon.
