The Walala Vineyard’s cool, coastal location served it well in 2020, allowing the grapes to mature at a steady pace and achieve optimal ripeness. The vineyard’s remarkable character stems from its 1,200-foot elevation, gravelly loam soils and proximity to the Pacific Ocean. The 2020 vintage from Walala offers robust flavors and depth with classic Pinot noir elegance. Clone 113 provides the core of the blend, offering intriguing tropical flavors and layers of texture. Clone 115 provides a rich structural core and red fruit flavors. Clone 828 was fermented whole-cluster adding complexity, verve and length.

"From the Walala Vineyard out on the Sonoma Coast, located 1200 feet above sea level, this Pinot Noir sees 5% whole cluster and 50% new French oak during aging. It produced classic Sonoma Coast darker fruit and hints of cherry cola, sweet baking spices and freshly turned earth. Sporting a lovely balance, medium-body and fine elegance on the palate, this is another fantastic wine from Sojourn that should drink well over the next 8 years." - Jeremy Young, International Wine Report
Walala Vineyard
West Sonoma Coast
The Walala Vineyard is perched along a ridge 1,200 feet above sea level, just inland from the rugged Sonoma coastline. In its position above the dense fog line, the vineyard experiences the moderate temperatures that give grapes longer hang times for optimal flavor and ripeness.
