Planted by Sojourn Founder Craig Haserot, the Home Ranch Vineyard is located just 10 minutes northwest of the town of Sonoma. The vineyard sits in a small bowl protected by the southern edge of Sonoma Mountain. The microclimate averages 3 to 5 degrees warmer than downtown Sonoma. The heat brings Cabernet Sauvignon to full maturity, for dark, concentrated wines. The vineyard’s tight spacing forces the vines to compete for water and nutrients–a beneficial stress that results in wines of great complexity. Planted in 2002, the first harvest was completed in 2005 and was bottled as a vineyard designate wine by Sojourn Cellars.
